Apple is working on launching its largest iPad Air, featuring a 12.9-inch liquid retina XDR display as the iPad Air 6th Generation model powered by the advanced M2 chipset. IPad Air 6th Generation, has been a subject of rumors since October of the previous year but recently, 91Mobiles revealed the renders of the upcoming iPad Air 6th generation device, thinking about the design and specifications? Let’s dive into it.

Design and Features

The Upcoming iPad model will resemble the current generation model in design, according to a report from 91Mobiles. It comes  with a slim body and an all-screen design with a 12.9 inch display. One of the notable features includes a Touch ID button at its top and speaker grilles at its bottom,  completely resembling the design of the previous generation. Additionally, the new Ipad is seen to be provided with a side switch and a USB-C port and there is a redesign around the rear camera with a visible border around the lens and LED flash; overall design changes seem limited by Apple.

Proximity to iPad Pro Lineup

The iPad Air 6th generation 12.9 inch aims to bridge the gap between the Pro and Air lineup, offering users a larger display option while saving costs compared to the Pro models. The bezels around the 12.9-inch iPad Air are anticipated to be similar to the previous generation, potentially resulting in larger dimensions than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro lineup.

Size Variants and Model Information

While the current iPad Air 5th Gen comes with a 10.9-inch screen, the new iPad launch later this year might introduce multiple size variants. A Bloomberg report suggested that Apple is planning a 12.9-inch iPad Air, with potential models codenamed J507, J508, J537, and J538. The reports noted that these models will be available in both wifi and cellular versions.

In line with Apple’s strategy seen in the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro series, the larger display on the iPad Air series aims to provide more options at various price points.

This upcoming iPad Air is poised to bring significant enhancements to Apple’s tablet lineup, offering users a compelling choice for a larger, feature-rich device.
